项目时限:自2007年起实施
关注点:全球范围内,特别是中国的环境和生态的变化,对人类可持续发展产生的作用与影响。
项目强调:
l 环境与人类健康间的内在联系和相互作用;
l 人文社会科学在理解上述复杂联系与作用方面的不可替性;
l 政府、企业以及民间组织在环境和健康方面的重要作用与互动。
项目策略:
l 多学科合作;
l 融合国际视角与本土文化;
l 扎根社区,促进社会参与;
l 与政府合作,关注弱势群体,倡导公共政策。

第三周期(2010年4月-1012年3月):
目标1:引入《环境健康社区指南》,推动信息共享和大众教育。
策略:学习国际经验并促进其本土化应用,推动信息共享和大众教育。
项目活动:促进《环境健康社区指南》在中国的普及与应用。
l 制作《环境健康社区指南》中文译本;
l 开展社区调查,进行适用性改编;
l 组织交流与专题研讨;
l 编制社区宣传教育和公众培训材料;
l 与高校、政府及其它NGO合作;
l 总结和分享,进行政策倡导与成果推广。
目标2:促进并示范环境与健康社区的可持续发展。
策略:联合多学科,基于社区,因地制宜地开展环境与健康社区促进工作,形成示范案例。
项目活动:开展环境与健康综合行动试点。
l 基于社区降低工业污染健康风险;
l 基于少数民族贫困社区开展环境与健康综合促进行动;
l 基于江河流域的村庄,分析环境与健康30年变迁(1980-2010)。
目标3:强化环境与健康资源中心的作用。
策略:加强团队建设,扩大工作网络,建立环境与健康信息分享机制和交流平台,提供技术支持,倡导公共政策。
项目活动:
l 加强工作团队的能力建设;
l 培育多学科团队,凝聚多学科专家队伍;
l 收集信息,积累图书资料库;
l 开通YHDRA环境与健康网站;
l 编印和发放项目读物;
l 组织研讨会议;
l 开办论坛;

Environment and Health Project

Focus: changes of the environment/ecosystem and the related influences/impacts on sustainable development in China and the world
l To explore relationship and interaction between environment and human well-being
l To integrate social sciences perspectives into analysis of the complex relationship and interaction between environment and human well-being
l To advocate active roles of the governments, enterprises and NGOs and to initiate collaborations to make comprehensive efforts to improve environment and human well-being

l Rooted in the community, promoting public participation; and
l Close collaboration with the government, focusing on the vulnerable groups, and advocating for public policies.

Objective 1:
To introduce A Community Guide to Environmental Health: pushing forward information sharing and public education in China
Strategies: To learn international experience and facilitate its localized adaptation and application, promoting information sharing and public education
Project Activities:To promote the publicity and application of A Community Guide to Environmental Health in China
1) To develop the Chinese translation for A Community Guide to Environmental Health
2) To launch community-based field tests for making the adaptation
3) To organize exchanges and seminars
4) To compile and develop Information/Education/Communication (IEC) materials for community education and public trainings
5) To collaborate with universities, government sectors and other NGOs
6) To summarize and share experiences; to carry on policy advocacy and achievements publicity
Objective 2:
To promote and demonstrate community-based sustainable development
Strategies: To carry out community-based environment and health promotion activities by employing multidisciplinary approaches according to local conditions, and to develop demonstrative cases
Project Activities: To launch environment and health comprehensive pilots
1) Community-based health risks reduction posed by industrial pollution
2) Community-based comprehensive environment and health promotion in poor mountainous area inhabited by minority nationalities
3) Great Mekong Sub-region (GMS) riverside villages: environment and health changes over the past 30 years (1980 - 2010)
Objective 3:
To reinforce the role of the Environment and Health Resource Center
Strategies: To strengthen team building, expand the network, establish the information sharing mechanism and platform, offer technical supports and advocate public policies.
Project Activities:
1) To strengthening capacities of the working team
